TOILET TRAINING TALES
Toilet Training Stories, Tips and Tricks
The books says a child can only control his bladder muscles when he reach 18 months.
If we try too early, we are only stressing the child unecessary and also stressing ourselves out. We will make the child feel like a failure if he accidentally wets himself. Remember, his brain can only control that part of the muscle when he reaches 18 months old. So, any earlier attempts to get them to wee-wee or poo-poo are just like striking lottery, consolation prize. Not toilet trained but timing trained. (Lilian, mom of 5)
I have been training Lavin to go to the toilet .. like the rest she too refuses to sit on the potty to do her business … Anyway realised that when I don’t put on a nappy she seems to tell me that she is going to pee by holding her panty .. so we quickly rush to the toilet and let her pee … no coming out until she does it .. it seems to be working so far … Not sure if that one way but my maid tells me that how she trained her daughter .. so i decided why not give it a try .. u never know …

I used to give them toys & books so that they r occupied & will sit still on the throne. Don’t know whether I have started a bad habit as Abhijay now takes his colour pencils, drawing paper (has to put all this on a small chair beside the throne), gameboys. He can sit there for a whole hour & when I ask him “finish ah?”. He reply sometimes would be “don’t know , Amma” (he is so occupied he doesn’t know whether he had done it or not)

Hehe…happy lar…my mom told me yesterday that Jiann Yang was half way playing with something when he suddenly ran to the toilet and kept pointing at the potty which was placed there. So mom took off his pants and diaper and he actually poo-poo a short while later. So amazing ler… first time he did that and we were all so happy that he finally reached this milestone..ha ha ha !!!
