I sent him to the baby sitter during day time and according to the baby sitter, it’s watery. At home when i changed him, noticed that there are occasion it looks like pastry type, also sometimes jelly type. It’s a mixed types of poo. To be honest, i really have no idea how a healthy poo should look like.
As for allergy, me and my hubby do not have any food allergy history. But remember during confinement month, i took DOME and he got rashes on his body. Once i stopped, it disappeared.
For the past two days (Mon & Tues), he only poo two to three times a day. It’s hard for me to trace what I ate during the time the milk was expressed because i have about 30-40 bags of milk storage in my fridge.
There are times at night when i breastfeed him directly, he seemed to get wind - the stomach is hard and he cried for quite a while. Not sure why he get wind. i can’t tell the difference between “wind” and stomach ache in baby. Any symptom ?
He just got his last jab last week. So my paed. only ask me to go back next year march for the next jab. He followed the chart and my baby still fall between the range. Do we monitor the baby’s weight gain every week ? or should i just monitor on monthly basis ?
I really want to breastfeed my baby except for the weight gain that makes me worried. In fact i started to enjoy breastfeeding him. It’s very convenient and easy. I breastfeed him in almost anyplace!
What I have learnt from the breastfeeding course today is that it is normal for breastfed baby to poo frequent and a bit watery. To check if it’s healthy poo, try observing the skin around baby’s buttock. If it’s smooth and no redness or pink patches around the buttock, then it’s ok. As bad poo will have acid and cause irritation to baby’s delicate skin easily.
For wind, try mild yu yee oil. Just use a drop and rub on your palm and just press softly on baby’s stomach.
If you are still worried, I think it’s worth a trip to your paed again.
