MEMBERS' COMMENTS
(Below are some comments received
about our support group. Hope more moms are encouraged to join us and
breastfeed their babies after reading them.)

| ………….it amazed me how much
you guys enjoyed talking about the same issue every time-babies
and anything to do with that! To tell you the truth, during my single
days, i had always tried to avoid having lunch with mothers because
i would yawned countless time everytime they started telling about
their little ones. For me, it was the most boring topic and cannot
imagine how they can live with telling and listening to the same
stories over and over again! And now, being a mother myself, i have
to apologize to them because that once-most-boring-topic is now
become my one of my fields that i am almost technically sound at! Thanx
to the group and to Faz ecspecially because if one day i didn't
recive anything from the group throuh her, feel like i missed something
in my routines. So Faz, now u don have to press the button 'Forward'
anymore! (Fiz) |
| We are all very passionate
about nursing and so far, we've shown that. That's what makes this
group so wonderful. It will be a shame if moms-to-be feel overwhelmed
or intimidated by our enthusiasm. I wish there was a group like
this (or knew of a group like this) when I was pregnant with Laura. Books
give a general view of what breastfeeding is like. Although lots
have been said about how difficult breastfeeding can be, it's different
when you get first hand information/account of real breastfeeding
experiences. In this group, we've had people who took to breastfeeding
like duck to water and those who struggle but persevered on. Also
there are those who cannot nurse direct but has chosen to express
milk for their babies. I hope moms-to-be will be inspired by our
effort and not get intimidated by our passion :o) (Min) |
And oh so flattering abt
the "happening" group. Thanks to all of our witty and knowledgeable
members, I have also learned a great deal abt BFG like never
before! Do write often to share your knowledge and thoughts
with all of us - when someone sends over a motherly thought,
everyone echoes & benefits from it! (SzeX2)

| Lillian, I agree with you.
If I was still working when I had Abilash I would 't have bfed Abilash.
Bfing alone is already so tough & can't imagine having a full time
job & doing it. So all you bfing & working wonderful mums, I salute
you. Abilash was also REALLY CHUBBY & had a lot of spare tyres till
he was 6-8months. The Pead was amazed with exclusive bfing (not
an oz of formula till 2 yrs old) he was gaining so much weight.
But once he started to crawl all the baby fat when away (bm prevents
obesity) but his weight is still high but looks lean. He could count
1-20 at 18 months & am extremely proud that I had a major part in
him being a healthy, bright & active boy. Today at almost 33 months
he is almost weaned. (Sheela) |
| Just a quick one from me - Matthew
and Abilash are the babes that will keep me going FIERCELY to bf
but its really Sze Sze that I draw my strength upon. I salute
and admire your determination and I just hope (and pray) I boleh
emulate u all the way. Kalau I boleh tahan to go as far as
u did for 1 year, I will kiss myself!!!!! So Sze Sze, u have
a "fan" here!! I'm sure William will do u proud
one day. Cheers. (May Mei) |
Over the year, we have received
many, many encouraging mails and the group support has spurred many
moms to breastfeed their babies and/or extend the nursing period longer.
Group support is truly the most important factor!
