What’s a sconce?

LOL, I admit my English is not that great. For a moment, I thought sconces was a mispelling of scones. You know….the English scones that go well with English tea and taste extra delicious if it has the buttery taste with fresh strawberry jam?
But after I google around, then, only I know that home theater sconces are actually fixture on the walls.
Since, I don’t have a home theater, you have to forgive me for not knowing what a sconce is until now. It is also a light fixture which is fixed on the wall to make it much more attractive.
