Tending to a sick child
Jan 11th, 2008 by Lilian
So here I am, sitting by the bed side with a vomit bucket. My kid has gone to sleep so I have some time to write as the laptop is just next to the bed.
The moment he stirs, I will be on alert and see if he needs the vomit bucket. Years of parenting has made me agile like a panther, where collecting vomitus is concerned.
It comes with years of experience. That little kid refused any medications so I just keep stuffing him with dry crackers and water. My paed’s advice when a kid has vomitting is to let him throw up whatever bothers him but make sure to keep him fill with drinks.
This is such a dreary job. How I wish I am at work, even sitting at a reception desk handling visitors and calls are much less stressful. But then, this is love. So collecting vomitus I will, gladly.
