Teens in crime
Aug 6th, 2007 by Lilian
It is depressing to open up the paper in the morning and be greeted with news about teens getting into crime. And these are not just petty crimes but grievous ones and some even involve murder and rape.
While our country is all gung-ho about being independent and splurging billion of Ringgit in development project like building theme parks, are we focusing enough on the basic things in life? Is the Government aware that without a good basic family unit, the country will go haywire?
With all the materials things, parents need to work harder. Children left to fend for themselves. Tensions grow. Crime is the result. Out of the billions, is the Government spending enough on providing the megastructures, do they remember to provide to our basic needs like recreation, youth programmes, children development, more flexibility for working mothers and etc?
Or these will be neglected because it doesn’t bring money or create tenders?
