Silver heirloom

I am curious. As parents, have you ever thought of keeping some family heirlooms which you can hand down for generations? I think in this age, we no longer have money to spare to buy heirlooms like antiques, gold or silver to keep for our children’s future prosperity.
Whatever money we have, we need to use them for their education. But think about it. Wouldn’t it be nice to keep several precious items that we can distribute out when we have passed on? I can imagine my descendants gathering in front of the lawyer while my will is read out and properties, precious metals and lots of money are handed out. Of course, this is just a silly thinking. I won’t be able to afford them.
But still, it will be good to be able to invest in some of these because we never know how secure our future is. In bad times, money and properties no longer worth anything. But gold, silver and jewels will probably get a passage to safer grounds. Ok, maybe I have read far too many war torn stories.
Also, do you realised that we won’t be able to say, “Born with a silver spoon in the mouth” if we didn’t have the silver to pass on to our grandchildren?
