Recycling begins at home

Apr 15th, 2008 by Lilian

When I was growing up, I remember there wasn’t much emphasis on recycling. I think I was about 15 years old before they start this recycling campaign. Unfortunately, I am one of those who are not very proactive when it comes to recycling. I still use plastic bags when I go for my grocery shopping. Well, they give so I take. It is so unlike many of the European countries where they charge you for the plastic bags.

Luckily, my children are much more aware than me on how to take care of the environment and they are a lot more conscious than me. That’s why we need to teach our children to recyle. Although I do not have much knowledge, we are now slowly getting to be more aware and conscious on how we dispose our rubbish and how not to dump everything without a second thought for the environment.

Many industries make big bucks from recycling and I hope this will push them to increase their efforts in recycling. They also have auto recycling and you can find a list of midwest auto recycling from the link given.
