No more World Breastfeeding Week for me
Aug 2nd, 2007 by Lilian
Many years ago, I was all gung-ho about breastfeeding week. But I am finally over that phase. Phew….thankfully. Otherwise, this time of the year, I will be preparing banners, brochures, talks, organise groups and yadda yadda yadda. Now that my breastfeeding days are over, I decided to hang up those nursing bras and those notion of “I want to save the world by promoting breastfeeding”.
A certain NGO owe me some money because I was naive enough to use my own money to print brochures with their sponsorship name inside. When I produced the invoices, they didn’t pay me. So bah, so much for being generous.
I am also tired of those government hospitals and clinics who asked for my contact to help breastfeeding mom. I tried but you know what? Counseling breastfeeding moms takes a hell LOT of patience, which I don’t have.
So, tralalala, I don’t want to see breastfeeding stuffs, evarrrr…..You know what? Breastfeeding is a little bit like religion. Either you want it or you don’t. No one can talk you into it.
