New house, new housekeeping

My current place uses mosaics as the kitchen tiles. Instead of the regular smooth surface tiles that I am so used to, I am now walking on a more grainy mosaic tiles. It is rather easy to maintain because the floor surface does not get as oily as those modern ceramic tiles.
Mopping the floor is also easier as there are not ugly stain marks to be seen on the matt surface. So, I love the olden mosaics more than the modern, spanking shiny kitchen tiles because I do not have to mop so vigorously as previous.
Sometimes, it is a pity that people do not appreciate the simpler things in life but instead opted for the modern but more cumbersome stuffs.
