Looks like I am going to need a new laptop

I am now waiting for the quotation from the Sony Service Centre. They suspect that my Sony Vaio laptop motherboard is fried. Initially, I thought it is just some corrupted drivers and softwares but they couldn’t restart the laptop in Safe Mode. All I get are lots of 00 on the screen.
If they tell me the motherboard is dead, I am going to be dead too. It is going to cost a lot of money so I might as well buy a new laptop. This time I want to make sure that it has ample memory and lots of hard disk space because the Vaio was not only slow, it has too little space for my photos.
