Does your baby get gold anklet as gift?

Apr 10th, 2008 by Lilian

For the Chinese, the grandma is supposed to give their grandchildren gold anklet as gift. Gold anklet is a good choice because babies are not recommended to wear any chain and gold pendant or even wrist band.

So, having a gold anklet is like a symbolic gift that will last for a long time. In fact, I have so many gold anklets in my safety box, I have lost count which belong to which son of mine. Everytime I gave birth, both my mother and mother-in-law will give one to my two older children. Later on, after they had passed away, my sisters-in-law too bought gold anklet for my other babies.

Now, I wonder what I should do with those gold anklets? By the way, do you know that anklets and especially gold anklets are back in fashion? There are so many shops and online stores selling gold anklets which are fashionable, sexy and very delicate.
