Frankly speaking, I am mighty blessed that I have no major problems with my teens. I know some families will end up with shouting and yelling dramas. Some of them with teen daughters will see an even more dramatic, tears loaded sessions. Previously, I expected some tough situations but thank God, they do not give me any problems. Well, except for the love of speeding that make me totally stressed out.

However, if you have problems with your own teens and think they may need some courses on building teen self confidence , then, do check out the kickoutstress dot com and see if they can help you. I know it is not easy being a teen nowadays because of the big influences of all the perfections expected from them. They not only have to shine in their studies, they have to excel in sports and look good as well. With that amount of stress, anyone can go crazy too, don’t you think so?

One of my son has the kind of fanatic streak like me. If I like something, I will pursue it till the ends of the earth. I guess he got this crazy streak from me because he also get very engrossed with anything that interest him.

Recently, he got interested in reflective materials. The tailor here charges a very exorbitant price for phats. I told him that I cannot afford a RM400 pair of baggy jeans for him because it will means I have to spend the same amount of money for his other brothers as well. We have this rule in the family, we try to be fair to every kid so anything that is deemed frivolous have to wait.

So, he bargained with us to instead import the materials. He is very thorough in his research. He negotiated for the imports of the materials and he even learnt to sew! We also bought him a sewing machine. Yes, the total amount we spent is more than RM400. Probably, we had spent 10 time of that.

But what matters is he is interested to get involve in this fashion stuffs and spend his time improving on the quality and designs. He has never sewn a phat before, of course. But he could sew toddler size.

For my hubby and I, as long as they show an interest in something, we will encourage it. Never mind that some of those get put aside as ‘hangat-hangat tahi ayam’ (i.e. lost of interest). Never try , never know.

He even keeps an account and very business-minded and is making some profits from his sale.

Long time ago, the mention of college education sounds like a daunting task and a lot of people were in trouble because they couldn’t put their children through colleges and universities. Well, hubby and I have come to this stage where my eldest son is ready for college. We are glad that when we reach this milestone, the amount needed is not that scary after all.

We must thank God and praise Him that both of us have the sensibility to live frugal lives, save when we can and invest some of our money. That’s why we do not feel the pressures. If you are a young parent, do start thinking about your children education and plan from young. If you have the money, save it and not squander them all for lavish lifestyles. I would invest in some rare gold coins if I can find some trusted sites to help me with it.

I have an evening mass to attend as it is the season of Lent and there is the weekly station of the cross on every Friday. I caught up with someone tonight and he told me about my son who is in his cathecism class. My son is going for his Confirmation this year and it is a big leap towards adulthood.

The gentleman has spent his life devoting to serving people and though he is 70+ years old, he is the live wire and the youths love him. He pile praises on my son and I was so touched with what he said. Together, we laugh over how each of my children are so different. Last two year, I have another son and poor gentleman told me he is a hard to handle guy. Well, I told him that’s the marvel of my kids. I warned him that he is going to get another son who will be even more challenging to deal with in a few years time.

I must thank God that I have the open heart and wisdom to discern and understand the special characters of each of my children and do not compare them. They are all so different and dealing with them is a joy as I do not know what comes next.

I think after all these mothering, I deserve a cruise on the royal caribbean when they are grown up. I need to go and give myself for being able to switch my roles with each kid.

I have been following celebrities gossip blogs just because they are interesting. Recently, a lot of the celebrity moms are getting pregnant like it is a new trend to be pregnant.

Finally, Jennifer Lopez or better known as J Lo has delivered her twin babies. Congrats to Marc Anthony. I never care much about J Lo songs but I love Marc Anthony Spanish tunes. Or at least I think those songs are Spanish. *roll eyes*

According to Perez Hilton‘s blog :

It’s a boy! And a girl!!!!

The girl was born at 12:12 a.m. and weighed 5 lbs. 7 oz., and the boy followed at 12:23 a.m., weighing 6 lbs.

La Lopez gave birth in Long Island, N.Y., where she and hubby Marc Anthony live.

“Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon,” says Lopez’s manager.

Go have more babies, moms. All the celebrities are doing it. It is chic. It is hot.

Now, let’s bring out the Riedel and toast to Mr. Marc Anthony and JLo for the babies. Congrats!

I have wonder if parents are open about the amount of money they have in the banks, the properties they own and all the worldly materials they have? Do they talk to their children about it?

I do. I feel that our lives are not a permanent thing. I have seen couples just wiped off the planet earth, leaving their kids behind. So, I want to make sure that my children are aware of where we keep our money, how we invest in them, what benefits we will get in future and how we manage our money. I even told my sons who is my webmaster, what to do if they need to retrieve information about my blogs and what they should do in the event that we are gone suddenly.

It may sounds morbid but I prefer them to manage whatever is left behind than to leave it to relatives. Who knows, the person we trusted may not declare what we own? So, it is all open communication in my family. Of course, I hope none of these need to be dealt with because I want to live till old age and they won’t ever need our money. I may even stash a huge amount of silver and one day, use the money to pay for my life in the Swiss Alps.

So, I pray that God will be kind to my family and let us have a normal family life till old age.

The thing about being a parent is we lost almost all of ourselves including our weekends. Mine is all occupied with what the children are supposed to go and do. It is basically running from place to place or waking up early to accommodate them.

I suppose this is the price we pay for the joy and happiness they bring. Still, I want to lament how little time I have for myself. This weekend is especially busy because it is a school day for the two of them as they need to compensate for the Chinese New Year holidays. After school, they had cathecism class and with all the running around to fetch them from place to place, just realised there wasn’t even a weekend for me.

Poor kids, tomorrow is school day again. Lucky that Wednesday is a public holiday.
