Autism blog

Mention the word autism and most parents will have a general idea what it is. However, many of us do not know much about this condition. In Malaysia, I feel that we are still lacking in the parents’ support network.
I tried looking up for a website but only found the NASOM’s contact address:
National Autistic Centre of Malaysia

Through MyMomsBest, I had gotten to know a mother who has a child who is suspected to have autism. She has started two blogs dedicated to taking care of her son.
I hope everyone will read through Tricia’s blogs and learn more about the difficulties faced by parents with special children. God’s willing, we will gather some information from Tricia’s experiences and help to disseminate to other parents.
Tricia’s blogs:
This is a Blog about my child and Autism in general. I took the title from a book about an Autistic child entitled “The Curious Incident of the Dog in Night Time”.
and
The Private World
This blog is created to help parents with special kids esp. those with Autism.
Most parents are in denial stage with an autism child. my uncle felt ashamed to admit there is a problem with my little cousin. Quite detrimental to the child

Thank you.
I believe those parents who have kids with Autism have the right to be in the `denial stage’. However it’s matter of the time taken to get out of it and move on. What ever it is….one still have to face the fact and the truth. One cannot hide or deny forever. The importance is resolving the `problems’ concerned immediately and to your very best effort. There is no cure for Autism but as a parent you can at least do the best for your child. My 2 cents worth of thoughts.
[...] I have blogged about autism previously and there is a link to the blog of a mother whose child has autism. [...]
