Are you the helicopter parent?

I guess I probably was but I got sick of the game after a few kids. So, in a way, my children are lucky that I retired from the helicopter parent style. But I think my eldest son probably get a dose of that.
What is helicopter parenting? Helicopter hovers. Parents who hover around their children, ever ready to do everything and fighting every fights are helicopter parents which is a term coined to describe these parents.
They say it is rare but I doubt it. If you take a drive by the schools here, you may notice a group of mothers who are perpetually outside the school gates every day. As I live next to my son primary school, I have seen that for more than 7 years.
These mothers will not hesitate to barge into the classroom to demand even half a marks for their kid’s examination. They will wait with umbrellas to shield the rain and the sun, carrying their almost grown up children school bags. Almost grown-up according to my definition are those kids above 10 years old who are much bigger size their their moms.
So, yeah, I am anti-helicopter parenting. I ditched that style a long time ago and I believe it will do our children good. I am the kind who lets my kids swim in the deep end of the pool because I have faith they can.
Now, do you have some of the helicopter parent in you?
