Anti-histamines and my son’s allergy
Apr 24th, 2008 by Lilian
My eldest son has a very sensitive nose and he will sneeze non-stop if there are dust mites bothering him. So, he had a very bad bout of sneezing and runny nose since yesterday. We normally have a batch of anti-histamines at home for this purpose. However, recently, he noted that he no longer response to some of them.
We have Zyrtec, Actifed and Clarinese. However, none of these work for him except Clarityne. So, I just wonder why some anti-histamines work for a person and not on another? For example, I have my youngest son who will go totally crazy if he takes Actifed. He turned monstrous and get very agitated. Thank God that I brought this matter to my child’s paediatrician. It was quite an accident. I told him I do not know why my son was so grouchy and he then told me that some kids get agitated if given a certain anti-histamines.
So, if you want to find a place where you can search for all these symptoms, signs, names of the medications and etc, do check out this site which provides a free medical blog widget. It is merely copy and pasting to get the widget working.
