ABC…alphabet soup
Sep 18th, 2007 by Lilian
I had provided the recipe for alphabet soup in my food blog. Recently, I decided to take the photos of the raw ingredients so that the young mommies have a better idea.
To cook a soup base – Use potatoes, tomatoes, onions, carrots and bones. Do cut the potatoes and carrots into tiny cubes.

If your child is bigger and can chew meats, then, use a piece of chicken breast and cut into small cubes too. Season the meat with some cornflour to give it a smoother texture.
This alphabet pasta is only available from bigger supermarkets. If you cannot find them, just use macaroni. Cook the pasta according to instructions. Usually, boil in boiling water for about 10 minutes.

I like to cook the pasta separately to avoid making the soup cloudy and slimey. If you are just making a small portion for your child, then, just dump the alphabet into the soup.

Every kids, old and young love to see all the alphabets swimming in the soup. The ingredients above also make a hearty ABC soup for the whole family.
There is nothing more rewarding than to prepare healthy, balanced meals for our children. So, moms, don’t missed out on this very fulfilling activity. Cooking for kids is not hard. Follow this blog closely and I shall share more recipes next time.
